What We Do:

  • Asset Alarms such as excessive breaker / LTC operations, low SF6 gas, high transformer top oil/winding temperatures, etc.

Wildfire Safety Inspection Program

We worked closely with the Transmission Electric Asset Management team (TEAM) on the 2019 Wildfire Safety and Inspection Program (WSIP). We created an FMEA for all transmission line/tower assets that could cause an ignition. We created several procedures within SQL server to consolidate, transpose, cleanse, prioritize, and map the Transmission Line Drone and Ground Inspection data, the SAP Notifications and the Historical outage data to the FMEA component. The data was used to drive asset health and Tableau reports/dashboards.




PRC-002, PRC-004, PRC-005 Compliance

Our team automatically processed and analyzed massive amounts of collected oscillography/event and disturbance data files from various types of protection and monitoring devices, and securely reported on any fault occurrences or potential trouble spots. The collected data files included digital fault records, sequence of events records, disturbance records, measurement logs, configuration settings, and health checks. All collected data files were parsed and uploaded to a relational database. Algorithms were created within the database to identify fault type, fault category (actual fault, thru fault, or no fault (potential miss-operation)), fault location, issues with recoding channels, excessive alarms, communication health, and device setting/configuration changes. Email notifications were automatically generated in real time to notify engineers of system faults, high bus voltages, and high transformer temperatures




Displaying Fault Location on GIS Maps

Our team assited KAMO in automating the process of extracting relay targets from Comtrade fault files, uploading the data to a relational database, and cleaning the data. We also worked closely with their engineers and IT department to display the fault location information on ESRI GIS maps.
