Wavepoll Software – Collection and Secure Transfer of Substation Data

The Wavepoll software is used to collect data from various types of devices such as numerical relays, event/disturbance recorders, digital meters, asset monitors, and smart sensors. The software is installed within the Utilities' DMZ network and includes an extensive library of polling drivers for both proprietary and standard protocols. The collected data includes digital fault records, sequence of events records, disturbance records, measurement logs, configuration settings, real time load data, real time temperature data, and health checks. The software also can automatically copy/move data files from the DMZ network to the corporate LAN/application network as well as create an archival process for the oscillography/event files.

Waveprocess Software – Automatic Extraction, Prepration & Validation of Key Parameter

The Waveprocess software automatically extracts 100+ key parameters from the digital fault records. The data includes Channel information, Prefault data, Fault data and Sequence of Events. The fault key parameters can be used to show compliance and develop an audit trail for PRC-002, PRC-004 and PRC-005.

Wavebase Software – Storage of Key Parameters, Creation of Advanced Analytics & Presentation of Data

The Wavebase software parses the data collected by the Wavepoll software and the key parameters extracted by the Waveprocess software and uploads the data to a relational database. The advanced analytics created within the relational database are the culminative of 20+ years of expertise in fault analysis and asset health. Advanced analytics include fault categories (double ended faults, single ended faults, thru faults, and non-faults – possible mis-operation), fault types, fault locations, channel health, and DME health. The DME data stored in the relational database as well as the algorithms results can drive Business Intelligence dashboards/reports.
